Last Sunday, 14 December, elections to local self-government bodies were held in three Russian regions. Deputies were elected to three representative bodies of a municipal formation and the head of one municipality was elected.
Altai Krai: simultaneous exhibition games from the LDPR
The region held repeat elections for the head of the Souskanikha village council in Krasnogorsk District.
On the single voting day, the LDPR candidate, Barnaul resident and economist at Barnaul Electric Grid company Regina Bulaeva gained the upper hand over United Russia nominee Nadezhda Rumyantseva, a records clerk in the local administration. However, Bulaeva subsequently refused to leave her actual place of work and assume the post of head. As a result, the commission organising the election, by its own decision, ordered the candidate to reimburse the expenses for preparing and conducting the repeat vote. It is worth noting that Bulaeva was simultaneously participating in a by-election for a deputy seat on the Krasnogorsk District council.
As a rule, for participation in local elections in the krai, the LDPR nominates candidates who reside in the cities of Biysk and Barnaul.
For example, in the vote for the election of deputies to the assembly of Zonalny District, held on 14 September as part of the local self-government reform, the party offered voters the candidacies of Biysk residents: Tatiana Baranova, director of Avtocity LLC; Elena Evseeva, a teacher at the Altai College of Industrial Technologies and Business; pensioner Olga Tsygankova; and Marina Pozdnyak, temporarily unemployed.
In the election of deputies to the council of the German National District, the party nominated Barnaul residents — Alexander Lukashenko, an assistant to a deputy of the krai Legislative Assembly, and student Viktor Ivanchikhin.
Seven Barnaul residents participated in the election of deputies to the council of Tabuny District: manager of Escort-Service LLC Pavel Fedorov; temporarily unemployed Elizaveta Polikarpova, Ksenia Migunova, Roman Terekhov and Daniil Gubanov; students Viktor Nikolaev and Viktor Ivanchikhin.
Residents of Barnaul and Biysk also participated in the elections of heads of village councils: Nizhneneninsky in Solton District, and Verkh-Obsky and Solonovsky in Smolensk District. The already-mentioned Tatiana Baranova and pensioner Elena Baranova, also a resident of Biysk, took part in the latter two.
Repeated participation by the same LDPR candidate in several election campaigns can be found in Pervomaisky District. A certain Veronika Vronskaya, a resident of the village of Firsovo, was nominated by the party in the elections of heads of the Bobrovsky, Zhilinsky and Sannikovsky village councils.
Returning to the repeat election of the head of the Souskanikha village council that took place on Sunday, we note that three pensioners took part: self-nominees Sergei Dyachenko and Nikolai Meshcheryakov — current deputies of the local council, and Vladimir Korchagin, nominated by United Russia.
Following the vote, the post of head went to United Russia member Vladimir Korchagin.
Primorsky Krai: a return attempt after 8% turnout
In the Khasansky Municipal District of the region, deputy elections were held: a by-election in single-mandate district No. 4 and a repeat election in single-mandate district No. 11. The seats here became vacant following the personal resignation statements of United Russia representative Denis Bondar and self-nominee Elena Zaitseva.
On the single voting day, only one candidate was registered in district No. 11 — Pavel Peiko, nominated by United Russia. With a voter turnout of 8%, 37 people voted for the candidate and 59 voted against. In connection with this, a repeat election was called.
On 14 December, five registered candidates vied for the two vacant seats: two from United Russia, two from A Just Russia, and one self-nominee.
Following the vote, the seats were won by the United Russia candidates.
Rostov Oblast: replacement after the departure of half the deputies
In the Proletarsky District of the region, early elections were held for deputies of the assembly of the Budennovskoye rural settlement.
The representative body had previously lost its legal capacity due to the early termination of powers of more than half its deputies.
Thirteen candidates took part in the election: ten from United Russia and three self-nominees.
Following the vote, all ten seats went to United Russia candidates.

Since the single voting day on 14 September 2025, eleven election campaigns for heads of municipalities have taken place. Thirty-three candidates participated in them:
Elections were held for deputies of 62 local representative bodies, with 259 deputy seats being filled. A total of 565 candidates were registered in majoritarian districts.
